FAQ
How does a weekly meal planner work?
Short answer: you decide the week's meals once, and the app does the repetitive work — the grocery list, the pantry check, the rescheduling. Here are the questions people ask most about weekly meal planning, answered for Aumrie's planner specifically.
How does a weekly meal planner work?
You choose the week's meals in one sitting instead of deciding daily. In Aumrie you pick recipes from your own cookbook or the approved recipe collection and drop them into breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack slots on a Monday–Sunday week. The plan then drives everything else: the grocery list is generated from those meals, and items already in your Pantry are skipped.
Do I have to plan every meal, or just dinners?
Either works. Many people start with dinners only. Aumrie's planner has separate slots for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, and a meal-type filter lets you view or plan one type at a time — or several at once — so you can grow into full-week planning at your own pace.
Where do the recipes in the planner come from?
From your own cookbook: recipes you type in, paste, or import from a file, photo, or social media caption. You can also pull from Aumrie's approved recipe collection — real, sourced recipes with photos, ingredients and steps — and save copies into your cookbook to plan.
How does the grocery list connect to the plan?
One tap builds the week's grocery list from the meals on your planner. Duplicate ingredients are merged and cleaned (a pinch of baking soda and baking soda become one entry), and anything already in your Pantry is skipped. You can generate the list for the whole family or only selected profiles.
Can I plan for family members with different dietary needs?
Yes. The planner supports a shared Family track plus individual profiles with their own dietary restrictions and goals. You can view the week by profile or side by side, and recipe suggestions can scan for a profile's selected needs — clearly marked as AI-scanned only or personally verified by you.
What happens when plans change mid-week?
You drag the meal to another day and the grocery list follows the plan. Saved week plans let you reuse a whole week as a template later, and planner history shows past weeks — including which recipes you marked as actually cooked.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Aumrie runs in the browser on phones, tablets and desktops. You can add the week to your phone calendar — events include the full recipe details — and share a read-only planner link with a friend.
